"Live Simply" Turtle Afghan

Live simply and peacefully...

This is an absolutely gorgeous afghan! The center of the blanket has a turtle pattern and in the turtle's shell is a frog on a leaf, a forest, the planet earth and the night sky. Below the turtle is a "peace frog" and the words, "Live Simply."

Each corner of the afghan has a depiction of the planet earth and around the border of the blanket repeats the words, "Live Simply" with a peace frog between each phrase. See the picture below for a full size view.

What's so awesome about this afghan is that it is a true weaving. The warp yarn is black and white and runs parallel. The weft yarn is much smaller and includes the colors blue, green, red, yellow, and white. These are the threads woven in and out of the warp yarn to give all the various shades in the afghan. For example, the dark aqua background is not dyed aqua but looks that way because of the blue, green, and black threads woven together.

Really neat to examine closely and makes a great accent blanket in your home!
