This sea turtle has the look and feel of real ivory!

It is made from the tagua nut which is also known as vegetable ivory. The tagua tree is commonly known as the ivory palm and the seeds it produces have qualities that are almost indistinguishable from elephant ivory. The nut is brown on the outside, but gradually turns to a creamy white as you carve and sand through the layers.

The ornament comes in a handsome balsa wood hexagonal box (see detail photo below.)

This beautiful sea turtle ornament is ecofriendly as it is hand crafted from sustainable products and Fair Trade certified.

Harvested and made in Ecuador.
