This beautiful sea turtle ornament is both of those things as well as made from sustainable products and Fair Trade certified.

The ornament is made from fused glass and vegetable ivory, also called tagua. The tagua tree is commonly known as the ivory palm and the seeds it produces have qualities that are almost indistinguishable from elephant ivory.

Tagua seeds can be carved and dyed like real ivory and are frequently made into beads such as those used on this ornament.

Each piece is unique due to the process of fusing the glass to capture air bubbles inside. Harvested and made in Ecuador.
