A high quality, hand painted, porcelain replica of the Alabama Red-bellied Turtle, this turtle is a great collectible!

The topside of this turtle is a black brown with highlights of yellow on the head and legs. But when you look underneath (see detail picture below), you get to see a beautiful red belly with black markings in the center.

This turtle species is designated the state reptile of Alabama and was listed as endangered by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1987. Adults generally grow to be about a foot in length.

Comes in a nice gift box.
