This elegant teapot is made from specials clays in the Yixing region of China. The teapots have a history dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and are still made by skilled artisans that serve a long apprenticeship under established masters before their work can be sold.

Yixing teapots have the unique ability to absorb the tea flavor with continued use and the properties of the clay enhance the taste and aroma of tine tea.

The teapot is a beautiful dark terracotta color and three little frogs support the base. Around the spout of the teapot is draped a small lizard.
